MEXICANO Restaurant was born from a simple dream: to share the authentic flavors of Mexico with our Houston community.
In 2010, our founder, Chef Roberto Martinez, left his hometown of Oaxaca, Mexico with nothing but his grandmother's recipes and an unwavering passion for cooking. Growing up in a small village where food was the center of family life, Roberto learned that every dish tells a story and every meal is an opportunity to bring people together.
What started as a small taqueria with just five tables has grown into a beloved Houston landmark. But through all our growth, we've never forgotten our roots. Every tortilla is still made by hand. Every salsa is prepared fresh daily. And every guest is treated like family.
Today, MEXICANO serves hundreds of families each week, but we still operate with the same love and dedication that Roberto brought from his grandmother's kitchen. We believe that authentic Mexican cuisine is about more than just food—it's about heritage, community, and the joy of sharing a meal together.
